Carlos Sainz expressed frustration after being impeded by Isack Hadjar in qualifying for the Canadian Grand Prix, leading to his elimination in Q1. Despite feeling strong in practice, Sainz believed his weekend was ruined by Hadjar and criticized him over team radio. Even though Hadjar defended his actions, claiming he believed Sainz had aborted his lap, Sainz missed out on Q2 by a fraction of a second and remained upset during media interviews. Sainz emphasized his disappointment at being in P17 when he expected to fight for Q3 and a top-eight position. Stating that he lost valuable time due to the incident, he found it frustrating but accepted the situation as it was. Despite starting far back in the race, Sainz was determined to focus on his disappointment from qualifying and his missed opportunities. Hadjar, on the other hand, progressed to Q3 but still felt downbeat, taking responsibility on behalf of his team for the miscommunication that affected Sainz’s qualifying and possibly his own performance.
